Kings of Ethristah ~ FAQ

Post  ArkAngelical on July 15th 2008, 5:30 pm

Q: What is Kings of Ethristah?

A: Kings of Ethristah is an RPG that is based in a Medieval fantasy world called Ethristah. It is a land of opportunity for both Good and Evil. Choices abound as you, the player, travel from city to city setting events into motion that cannot be stopped, nor can be fully seen.

Q: Why create Kings of Ethristah?

A: To both change how the gaming industry makes RPGs, and to show the gamer's out there that there is something better out there, more then just chaos, and suffering, but to help them find peace and hope through Christ.

Q: Where does Kings of Ethristah take place?

A: Ethristah is the name of the world in which the game is played. The land is divided into three major areas. The tropical land of Treelieflan, the varying Kadminn, and the desert landscape of Thead.

Q: What do I control?

A: In the beginning...
You play as a young boy or girl. As you grow up, you become more powerful and influential, and may end up leading armies or fighting all by your lonesome, the choice is ultimately yours to make.

Q: How many characters do I control?

A: For the vast majority of the game, you play only one character, but depending on choices you have made, and circumstances that come up, you could end up commanding armies.

Q: What is the main focus of Kings of Ethristah?

A: Unlike most RPGs, this game is not about fighting, but more so how you play your character. There will be conflicts and plenty of fighting in them, but the focus is more the choices you make rather then how good a sword you wield.

Q: What's different?

A: There are no classes (Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Mage, etc.) to choose from, but instead different professions that can be combined in numerous ways. Some of these professions may be similar to the classes in other games, in name, but they play alot differently. If a Smith gets paid for crafting weapons, why shouldn't a Fighter get paid for the fighting he is already doing anyway?
Consequences aren't always bad, and most games with alignment based choices reward evil with no punishment. Not anymore, Ethristah is a living breathing world, it doesn't pay out instantly, but doing good has its rewards, and even though you can get your rewards NOW, doing evil may come to haunt you later.
